Breaking Down New Bathroom Plans

Let me show you the bathroom plans! There are not a ton of changes to the original layout but a few details did cause some layout upgrades to the space and I wanted to share in a little more detail.

BATH

Bathtub comes out! & in turn we have to build a cavity for the shower - a ledge and elevating the floor to accommodate the new linear floor drain.

LIGHT SWITCHES

We are going to add a pocket door to the entrance vs. a swing door but it will require us to move the light switch and outlet. We are going to place this adjacent to the mirror.

VANITY

The old vanity is being removed and we’re adding a wall mounted faucet so it will require some plumbing work to raising the sink water supply to the wall.

WATER SHUT OFF VALVES

Since we will now have wall tile, the current access to the water shut off is smack in the middle of the tiled wall. We will move the shut off upward so the access panel can be hidden behind the mirror.

EXHAUST FAN/HEATER

We previously had an awful (& dangerous) wall heater that we will be removing. We also had no exhaust fan which will add in the ceiling. The one we chose will have a light, fan and heater.

POCKET DOORS

One the most exciting space saving parts of the renovation!
