Our client came to us wanting to carve out a home office in their open loft family room. The space had so much potential but challenging circulation due to the stair entrance, closet doors, and balcony door access. We truly made the most of this square footage by utilizing wall space and even worked with the client’s existing sofa! Not only did we get a home office space, we added an entertaining bar for the patio by repurposing a closet. My favorite space-saving trick was the removal of the closet swing doors and replacing them with this deep olive curtain front. This one change allowed us to have this optimal space plan. Adding beadboard and walnut and oak wood tones brought out the mid-century and California vibes. This room is now the multi-purpose inspiring space they were looking for. It’s ready for work, lounge, AND entertaining.
